• HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY // Celebrating the sun worshiping for the ‘in lieu’ today. An ahhhhh moment in one of my fav ethical brands @bachhara with @maddisonclare ☀️💛 . The past four months have been a trying time for our nation, amid the bush fire crisis displacing thousands of Aussie families & decimating 5+ millions acres of flora & wiping out equally millions of natural fauna (entire populations of koalas, wombats, echidnas, kangaroos + more). I always appreciate one of our country’s greatest characteristics - MATESHIP. The unwavering generosity of Australians to lend a hand, volunteer or financially contribute to help others in need. I am so thankful to the men & women on the front line fighting the fires, and the countless many who have been rescuing families & wildlife from life threatening conditions across all corners of Australia.   • HOME // The precious moment I brought my little family to Darwin. My most influential years can be found in the NT... a place that I couldn’t wait to leave in 2010 for the ‘big smoke’ & a place I’ve always wanted to come back to when the time was right. . 10 years on - I actually cried when we left 😭 It’s a special feeling getting off a plane, getting into a car & not needing a map to get around. I was home ☀️ . It was only a very short trip (2 days to see my twin get married) though I promise to come back again soon. Has been too long between visits 💛 You can take the girl out of the Territory, but you can’t take the Territory out of the girl 🥰 . Do you get that feeling when you travel ‘home’ too!?   • HANGRY TO HAPPY // Penelope has inherited her mamma’s sleep patterns & eating ability. Sleeps for hours (thank you all the help/support & tools I received to aid with that) AND sees food = eats it. For months I only made food at home for Penelope to eat, and after feeling like I had no time in the day - I got over feeling guilty about buying pre-made baby food. We’re out & about A LOT, I love to exercise & Penelope is a chilled out bub in her pram just taking in the sights. I sometimes forget to pre cut some fruit & veg so my weekly grocery trip to @woolworths_au always include some snacks that I know will satisfy her (textures & taste) AND satisfy me (healthy, natural, trusted baby brand). The @raffertys_garden banana snack bars were her favourite until I came home with the Cheese Chickpea Pops... miraculously I have a whole 20 minutes to myself (mostly to clean lol) while Penelope is occupied with doing what she loves most... eating! 👶🏼🥰 That’s my girl!! . I’m all about learning...   • REFLECTION // The end of one year and the beginning of another is a magical time to reflect. To acknowledge and pay homage to our greatest sorrows as well as our greatest triumphs. To dream, plan and goal-get the things we want most to build an incredible life, not just settle for one. . 2019 for me has been one of my biggest years of personal growth. There has been SO MUCH to celebrate, and to balance (because LIFE) 2019 has also come with a fair share of set backs and bumps in the road... navigating my new role as a mother outside of the workforce, strengthening my marriage, developing my business plan, mourning the loss of a family member, supporting ill parents - all whilst seeing my beautiful baby girl grow each day into the magnificent tiny human she is today. . I AM GRATEFUL for it all. Truly. Rock bottom will teach you things mountain tops never will. As we say goodbye to 2019 and HELLO to 2020 - I'm taking this as an opportunity to reset, recharge and reenergise to realign to my values. Yes to minimalism, me time, quality time with my family & friends, making time to work on my little project, to give more...and no to what and who doesn't set my soul on fire. .   • SANTA STOCKING // Little Miss Heussler will be on Santa’s “nice” list this year (I can’t recall ever thinking to myself she’s been naughty lol). And it’s why I’m proud to be ‘one of those mothers’ that fills a Santa stocking with healthy, natural & nutritious treats. @raffertys_garden have been one of my go-to brands since I started Penelope on solids at 6 months of age (introducing their fruit, veg & meat purées around my home cooking for her the days when I was tired & needed to trust a 2nd source of nutrition)... it’s an added bonus I was only in @woolworths_au this week to see their new 12months+ range, how convenient!
