HAPPY MOTHERS DAY // Mothers and daughters together are a powerful force to be reckoned with... Strong women aren’t simply born, we are forged through the challenges of life. With each challenge we grow mentally and emotionally. We move forward with our head held high and a strength that can’t be denied. We are tired, and we keep going. Overwhelmed but never quit. Amazing even when doubted. Wonderful even in the chaos. We are women who have weathered the storm and survived.

SLEEP // Mamas love to sleep and dream, though mostly don’t with kids 😝🤪 I found the newborn/baby stage such a fragile time when I had Penelope... I was getting to know a whole new person in my life at the same time as meeting a whole me: Kate as a Mother (aka title just above Queen).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Unanimously (I think) we can ALL AGREE that when you become a parent, the 'sleep' you had prior to your bub arriving is a distant memory. The good news is @lovetodreamaustralia have launched an incredible, FREE online resource called the "Love To Dream Sleep Series." If you struggle with your bub’s sleep (or are struggling with sleep deprivation yourself), I highly recommend checking it out. It’s been so useful for me, and I wish I’d known about it when I first had Penelope!!

If you've been a friend on my IG/blog for a while you'll know I am a HUGE fan of Love To Dream already… their products were recommended to me when I had my little girl - and I've bought/used their entire range as Penelope has grown over the last 2.5 years. IWD21 // International Women's Day has always mean

IWD21 // International Women's Day has always meant something different for me each year. Not so much relating to the national or international theme, and more so related to 'where I'm at' in my stage of life; studying vs working, building a new career vs mastering a new one, in a healthy vs toxic relationship, before vs after a child, befriending my demons vs letting them control me, existing family/friends vs building a new network. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through every heartbreak, setback, ordeal or adversity, there has been an opportunity for me to make a change. In my home, in my workplace, in my family, in my friend circle - most importantly within myself. It hasn't always been easy, though it's always been worth it. Being a woman, and a mother, has encouraged me to focus on what challenges me - the person I was yesterday. Establishing new healthy habits + routines, constantly working on my mind, redefining my self worth, breaking cycles + healing, being happy in the moment... all daily rituals that take time and patience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I am...28 months postpartum (with makeup and spray tan), #nofilter (no editing, no airbrushing)... loving my body for what I have created, choosing to block out toxic people and energy, choosing to be happy because I deserve it, and busy being a positive role model for my daughter. At only 2 years and 3 months, she too is a little wild flower with a lot of warrior underneath 💟 #shegotitfromhermama⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
