A lesson you have instilled when raised in the Territory (one of the hottest and most humid of places to live in Australia) is the importance of keeping hydrated. It’s a simple way of living…if you don’t drink water, you end up heat stressed, fainting or worse – in hospital. This was me in my teens before I figured a few things out with my own health/wellness.
I moved to Sydney in my 20s with the same ‘Territory girl’ philosophy, and didn’t appreciate my upbringing until I started meeting people (long term big city dwellers) that didn’t like drinking water. This was so foreign to me as I’ve always loved drinking tap/still water (averaging 2L per day for as long as I can remember and 3-4L when I was pregnant).
