  • INNER PEACE // Achieving peace is a continuous journey many of us are on. Though it might seem out of reach, putting our mindsets and placing the world into perspective helps us become closer to accomplishing tranquility. I'm a 'work in progress' myself... I'm better than I was 5 years ago, 3 years ago and even 1 year ago - though I have a long way to go. Breaking old habits, breaking ‘the cycle’ & choosing what is good for your soul is always best. You can’t pour from an empty cup 💛 . “The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.” —Norman Vincent Peale. . I love to spend time with my daughter, walk my poochie, sit in the sun, read a book, and lately - investigate all the ways I can reduce my impact on the environment in my own home (going single use plastic free, mostly) 🌿 . .   • A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER // When the sun shines & there's a delicious spread of organic food in abundance, you can guarantee Penelope & I aren't too far away!! We were excited to be out & about to attend the Aussie launch of @littleoakcompany this week. I arrived in a fluster, desperately needing to go to the bathroom... and a lovely lady opened her arms to take Penelope. When I came out Penelope was laughing and this beautiful woman had a coffee in hand just for me. I gave her a hug and felt completely at ease. . If you've been following my journey into #motherhood you'll know I've had my own #breastfeeding troubles, mostly in that I would have LOVED to have nursed for at least 12 months, and with Penelope it just wasn't to be. I was intrigued about @littleoakcompany ; a home-grown brand that was natural, goats milk derived AND the only infant formula certified #palmoilfree. Listening to the Nutritionist speak about #guthealth and children vs adverse reactions to cows milk she was seeing by the hundreds, it got me thinking that Penelope's psoriasis & eczema medical diagnosis might not be something that I have to spend years combating. I can remember how I felt when she had an angry rash from head to toe for the first time and I had no idea how to manage it. . So here goes, a change for the better. I've just gone cows milk free myself in the last few weeks, and I've just switched Penelope to @littleoakcompany (goats milk is actually closer in a match to human breast milk). . Oh, and the lovely lady who so diligently saw that I was having 'one of those mornings', was the CEO. Bless. Thank you for your education on breastfeeding alternatives for us Mummas who weren't able to breastfeed our babies the way we had hoped! .   • HAIR GOALS // Frizzy, wavy, sometimes poodle curls is one of the three things I used to be bullied about in primary school (only second to severe acne & braces, oh man those were the years)!! It’s safe to say I’ve come a long way with my deportment & grooming since then - and we all know it helps when you have the right ‘tools.’ I found @functionofbeauty a couple of weeks ago scrolling through Insta and I was hooked by their fully customisable shampoo & conditioner range. I always lament over beauty products because rule no.1 they must be certified cruelty free. Tick. My hair type: pain in the ass. I’ve never found something that’s good for curly, fine & dry hair AND can deal with volume, anti-frizz, curl definition & hydration. Don’t even get me started on that chemically nasty smell like a lot of blonde blue, silver & purple shampoos on the shelves 😑 . And so... after my thorough research of the brand (my OCD comes in handy) “Function of Kate” arrived in the mail. Its been 1 wash (and loads of walking with Penelope in Sydney’s strong winds of late) and this is what it looks like 24hrs later. Literally the first time I’ve brushed my hair after washing it & no knots, no instantly having to blow dry it & then set it. And I still smell like a pineapple milkshake (because you also get to choose the scent & colour you want)🍦🍍 . . If only pre-teen Kate could have this!!
